Palestine: past, present and future

Posted on behalf of University of Sunderland

University of Sunderland's School of Culture presents 'Palestine: past present and future' - the chance to hear first-hand accounts of recent events from Palestinians.

Speakers include Ms Halla Alsafadi, journalist and author of a UN report on women in Gaza, Mr Anas Almassri of the Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, and Professor Bill Williamson, author of Passion is the Place: Reframing the Israel/Palestine Conflict.

Their talks will include discussion of human rights; identity; women in Palestine; how Palestinians are pursuing education under crisis conditions; nonviolent resistance; the provision of healthcare to those injured in “The Great March of Return” and the August 2018 violent flare-up between Gaza and Israel.

Presentations will be followed by a Q and A session, giving you the opportunity to put your questions to the presenters.

Tickets free. Everyone welcome.
