DIY Audio Drama: How to go from page to production on a shoe-string budget

DIY Audio Drama: How to go from page to production on a shoe-string budget

Posted on behalf of Sunderland Creative Writing Festival

If you have a smartphone, access to the internet, and even the simplest of audio editing software...  Congratulations.  You already have all the tools you need to write & produce your own audio drama. Granted, it won’t create the best sound quality; but you’d be amazed how easily an emerging writer can dip their fingers into this method of intimate, boundless storytelling.  And it’s all up from there.

With the rise of groups like Radio Drama Revival & the Audio Drama Production Podcast, you are primely positioned on the resurging wave of truly Do-It-Yourself audio drama - that anyone can make from home.

This “DIY Audio Drama” workshop is catered to writers who want to test their skills beyond the printed page.  Together, we’ll learn the tips & tricks of creating audio drama with the most shoe-string of budgets, and in teams we’ll bring that audio drama alive. (N.B.  We’ll be working with scripts created in the previous workshop, “Audio Drama Writing 101”.)
