CAV R&D Event - Sunderland

CAV R&D Event - Sunderland

Posted on behalf of The Knowledge Transfer Network

It is that time of the year...CCAV, Innovate UK and KTN would like to invite you to join an R&D event in Sunderland, on the 5th July.

With each passing year, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles seem to come closer and closer to becoming a reality. The emergence of these vehicles offers us exciting and potentially transformational opportunities. In the Industrial Strategy Challenge, 4 main themes have been identified by the Government as areas of focus for investments. Although one of the core areas of the “Future of Mobility” theme, CAVs have the potential of touching on all the areas identified (Clean Growth, AI and Data as well as Ageing Society). To date, the UK Government has invested over £120m in over 70 collaborative R&D projects, with more than 200 organisations being involved in the CAV space. The projects thematic areas span from full MaaS, public trials, connectivity, sensors, as well as modelling and simulations, to name just a few.

In this context, the R&D event will try to address some of the previously unexplored areas as well as build up on our strengths in order to maintain the UK at the forefront of this emerging industry.

During the events there will be pitching opportunities for those interested as well as the possibility to engage in 1:1 meetings with other participants. Furthermore, you will be able to ask your questions to representatives from CCAV, Innovate UK and KTN. For any additional information please contact George Filip at

Not able to attend? There will be a series of events starting in London on 26th June which will also be available via webcast. There will then be events in Cardiff (27th June), Belfast (28th June) and Glasgow (3rd July).
